Field & Stream photo

Can you guess where this photo was taken?  You guessed correctly if you recognized this amazing animal display at Field & Stream!  When there, instead of shopping, I spend much of my time standing before these beautiful animals.  No → hunting does not come to my mind as I use my eyes as binoculars seeking each detail of every animal.  My first thought, coming right off the tip of my tongue is, “How Majestic is Your Name”!  I smile as Continue reading MAKES ME SMILE!

C_Garland_How_Do_I_Get_Out_of_Mess_FrontCoverForWeb (2)

Messy Guy is traveling the world!  God is sending our book across the seas, first to Australia, then onto Thailand, South Africa and Zambia!  Our recently published book, How Do I Get Out Of This Mess? (click on the link to it) which reveals that our greatest messages come from our messes, will be shared with prisoners in these countries.  As our book was coming together, our prayer was to share with prisoners in chains so they could experience Continue reading CAN YOU IMAGINE?

Cindy in Sunflowers

I have been blessed  by the planting and harvesting of so many people in my life.  My Mom and Dad (Bob and Bonnie McRose) tilled the soil of my life, getting it ready for God’s purpose and plan.  Storms came along and tried to wash away that soil but God’s Hand remained strong!  Many others came along and planted the seeds – Sunday School Teachers and Youth Ministers, Ron & Pat Muterspaw, Dick & Patt Thomas.  Then those Continue reading PLANTING & THE HARVEST

Reds Peanuts

One of my favorite memories – cheering on the Red Legs with my Dad at Crosley Field.  Sometimes my Mom would come along too so it was a family night.  But many times it was just my Dad and me and those were treasured times together.  We ate peanuts and cheered the Big Red Machine.  We took our baseball mitts but never did catch a foul ball.  We sang “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” as we stretched Continue reading THE REDS

book cover

If you have been keeping up with my ‘sneak peeks’ here’s a sneak peek that really gives you a good peek at the cover of our book!  Dave Braughler at Greyden Press in Dayton and I have been working hard doing the final tweaking on all aspects of our book – looks like the front cover is set, still working on the final fit for the back cover.  And just a few more tweaks on Continue reading BE THE FIRST TO SEE !

Sara climbing Jesus Wept with both hands on the rock

Our family enjoys doing things outside – all kinds of things.  Yes, there’s already a backpack awaiting our new Granddaughter so Bryn will learn early how to appreciate God’s creation.  Our Daughter Sara and our Son-in-law Ben are avid rock climbers.  This picture was recently taken of Sara climbing at Red River Gorge, Kentucky (a premier rock climbing area known around the world).  Here’s a sneak peek into the world of climbing.  There’s a lingo for Continue reading ROCK CLIMBING

Saint Peter Walks on the Sea by James Tissot

I love listening to K-LOVE and our worship band at Southwest Church plays similar songs.  My new favorite song right now is “Oceans” by Hillsong United.  Click here to listen to this incredible song.  As I sing along, the line that pulls me in deeper is “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders”.  I pray this often.  The video has some great visuals for the lyrics and I also found a painting by Continue reading MY FAVORITE SONG

Grandma and Bryn in the Hospital

Just a week ago today, Bryn Elizabeth was born to our Daughter Angela and our Son-in-law Dan.  All the things the veteran Grandparents have told me about being a Grandma are true.  Thank you God for this amazing, beautiful miracle!  As Angela said in her first facebook post, “I just wanted to tell everyone now in case my heart explodes.”  Make that two exploding hearts!  Can’t you tell from the photo?

The light of day brought out the pink of the morning at our house!  If you happen to see a few pink flamingos landing around the Springboro area these days, come and visit Southwest Church to find out why these birds are roosting in area neighborhoods!  Click here for our website.

Ladder Photo from Haiti

Climbing the ladder – what does it look like for you?  The ladder of success?  The podium steps for an award?  A ladder which enables you to do your job?  The ladder of never-ending struggles?  I took this picture of a ladder leaning against a home in Haiti.  I’m not really sure, once you reach that top rung, where to next?  The tin roof is not very sturdy so surely they weren’t going on the roof –  perhaps Continue reading CLIMBING THE LADDER
